Meeting room EU 2016

Custom-made furniture with printed wood pattern for the Maritime Museum in Amsterdam

For the design of the meeting location, the Maritime Museum opted for furniture made from furniture panels that we provided with a beautiful wood print.

From January to June 2016, the Netherlands was President of the Council of the European Union. The meetings took place in the Scheepvaartmuseum and the Marine Etablissement Amsterdam behind it. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs opted for the theme ‘exploring’ to furnish the central meeting location for the Dutch EU presidency. A theme that not only refers to the maritime character of the meeting location and our historical heritage, but at the same time to innovation and the groundbreaking aspect of Dutch design.

The specialists in our Design and Lithography department have digitized a wood pattern with the Cruse Scanner and matched it to the other styling of the interior. The customer then supplied us with a pattern, which was placed over the wooden decor in black. With the use of the Qpanel BasiQ furniture panels, the meeting room is decorated with high-quality and durable meeting tables.

Unique lacquer system for long-term use

Our own unique lacquer system makes the furniture panels scratch-resistant, impact-resistant and easy to clean.
